Program Overview

For the past eighteen years, Sacred Heart’s Youth Ministry Programs have been proud to offer teens opportunities for both faith formation and faith sharing. While we utilize many of our own programs we are especially proud this year to be celebrating our 10th Anniversary as members of the LIFE TEEN community, a internationally known youth ministry program striving to “lead teens closer to Christ” through formation, community, prayer, service and liturgy. We offer a variety of youth programs outlined below, but also frequently plan special service opportunities as well as outings, special events, guest speakers, concerts, etc. Please feel free to contact for us for more information and be sure to check our calendar online as well as our news & events page! We look forward to welcoming you into our youth community!

Mass & Youth Group

LIFE TEEN Mass
The Mass is the heart of our youth programs. We encourage our young people to grow in their relations with Christ by getting to know him better through scripture, prayer and the celebration of the Eucharist. At our weekly youth mass on Sunday nights at 6:00 PM we worship together with our peers, families and other parishioners to experience the love of Christ.
Our youth mass features teen friendly homilies and praise and worship music offered by the LIFE TEEN Band highlighting both contemporary Christian music as well as some classics with a twist. Our teens are actively involved in the liturgy in various roles including: Greeters, Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Gift Bearers, Altar Servers and Music Ministers. If you’re interested in getting involved, speak to Laura or Rob.
*LT Masses are held every Sunday expect on the following holiday weekends: Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Columbus Day and President's Day
Youth Group
The Sacred Heart Youth Group is a church community specifically designed to foster faith sharing for our high school aged teens and college peer leaders. We offer a safe, fun, friendly and trustworthy environment where teens can be free to be themselves and to share their faith, struggles, achievements, challenges and hopes. We aim to bring the Gospel to life for our teens and help them relate it to their lives and faith journeys.
Youth Groups meets regularly on Thursday nights from 7-8:15 in the basement of the Religious Education building. We also regularly schedule social activities, special events, outings, service projects, prayer experiences and retreats. Many of youth members serve as peer leaders, religious education teachers/team, parish ministers and later as adult leaders.
Over the summer, youth group meets on Thur. nights from 7-8:15 on the lawn next the parish near the campfire when weather allows. In the event of rain, our activities move to the youth room.

About Faith Formation

R.O.C (High School)
An acronym for Rite of Confirmation, our parish utilizes LIFE TEEN’s R.O.C program as the faith formation program for our 9th and 10th grade teens as well as high school students who seek the Sacrament of Confirmation. R.O.C is presented in a youth ministry style, meaning that instead of teachers and classrooms, teens gather together and are assigned to smaller, faith sharing groups. The program is lead by a team of adult leaders and peer leaders specifically trained to work with youth. We strive to create healthy relationships with our teens as we help them along their faith journey and into the Sacrament of Confirmation. The program also includes service and justice elements as well as Freshmen and Sophomore Retreat experiences. Teens must be registered within the parish Religious Education Program to participate in the R.O.C program.

The Edge (Middle School)
For our Middle School teens, we offer faith formation in the style of youth ministry with hopes that it will spark our teen’s desire to journey in faith and encourage them to later become involved in our high school youth programs.
The Edge is LIFE TEEN’s middle school curriculum. Teens in grades 6-8 meet on Sunday nights from 4:30-5:45 in the parish hall. Much like our high school program, teens do not have one teacher in a classroom. Teens are gather together as a large group for faith formation presentation and are also assigned with smaller, grade level based faith sharing groups. The program is lead by a team of adult leaders and peer leaders specifically trained to work with middle school youth. We strive to create healthy relationships with our teens as we help them along their faith journey. The Edge program also includes service and justice elements as well as a daylong retreat experience for all teens in grades 6-8. Teens must be registered within the parish Religious Education Program to participate in The Edge.
